Organizing Lite

by Tina on August 8, 2010

“So, what’s all the fuss about organizing? Boil it down for me.” Well, it goes something like this:

1. Sort like items with like items.

2. Purge unnecessary, unloved, unwanted, unrepairable (my made up word) items (donate, recycle, sell, trash).

3. Organize the remaining items (color, size, amount, category, whatever you choose, etc.).

4. Measure/count the remaining items.

5. Determine where these items can be placed in your space.

6. Buy containers and/or storage supplies, only if you need them.

7. Put your items away in their containers in their designated space.

8. Relax and enjoy your new, organized environment.

It really is this simple. But, it is definitely not that easy.

We get so attached to our stuff. And, we make up all sorts of complicated rules about why we have to keep things.

This is very common behavior. But, who ever said you were common?

I believe you are unique. I believe you are more than the possessions you own. I believe you are worthy of living in a space that allows you the freedom to move and breathe.

I believe in you. You can do this.

“…don’t be afraid, just believe…” Luke 8:50 (New International Version)
